My Process: there are two points of light in the distance...

You're in a tunnel, and there are two lights in the distance. They're drawing you towards them and giving you direction. You focus every bit of energy on moving towards these in hopes of coming out of the dark.

My process, defines those two points of light as your business goals and the site visitors needs. Getting a complete view of these two key concepts, then combining them with world class graphic and interaction design talent will allow us to design an experience for your users which will convert them into loyal, return customers and thereby help you meet your business goals

My process is consistently successful because:

  • It aligns every effort of the development process with one of these goals.
  • We establish ways to measure the eventual effectiveness of the site so we can measure success in an ongoing effort to meet these goals.
  • We recruit real users to test strategy and design before, during and after implementing them to ensure that the site will meet real world expectations.

Focusing on the users needs gives real life purpose to the site and makes sure that real people can get what they are after and thereby help you meet your business goals.

Focusing our attention on business goals means that we aren't building Web sites and applications just because we think we should, but because there is a real need and a real chance of providing something useful. Focusing on the users needs gives real life purpose to the site and makes sure that real people can get what they are after and thereby help you meet your business goals.

We step through 5 phases to make this happen:

  1. Discovery: We think hard about what we are trying to get back from the site, because if you don't have goals you're sure not going to meet them! We think about our audience, the people we want to reach out to and attract. We look at our place in the competitive landscape and measure how we can move out ahead of the pack.
  2. Planning: What does the site visitor need to convince them to use the site and really want the product? How can that group of tasks be organized so they all fit together and operate as easily as a common household object? How are we going to measure success?
  3. Design: Here we carefully create the look and the functions which will guide the user through the site and allow them to get what they came for.
  4. Construction: We put it together and monitor its progress with real users looking on to make sure that the ultimate goal of getting the user what they want isn't lost in the shuffle!
  5. Follow-up and Tracking: We track visits, purchases and the effects of other outreach programs to ascertain what works and what doesn't.

Different sites will need different levels of attention to each one of these phases depending on the goals. The goal of most business sites is to engage the visitor in a process which will gain their attention, convert them into a real customer and retain them so they become repeat users.

Joe Delivers!

We've worked together on a number of web integration projects of various types and sizes. The two constants are that the project specifics are always new and different and that Joe always has innovations to meet our objectives. He's the man!
